We took on a beautifully located site set in front of the Atlas Mountains, where the client’s dream was to build a five-star hotel overlooking the magnificent landscape views. The brief inspired the team to question and push the boundaries of hotel design, not just to address the needs of the discerning traveller coming to Marrakech, but also to redefine and intensify the hotel as a contemporary socio-cultural hub.
The balance between each of these points and the aim for innovation resulted in a solution comprised of a main horseshoe shape or “U” shape distribution, moulded according to the orientation of the site, where a large central courtyard hosting the hotel’s zone relax opens to the mountain’s views and every single bedroom and suite benefits also of these views.
The hotel consists of 99 bedrooms and suites as well as various leisure functions such as a large lobby, two restaurants, a bar and sitting areas, a multipurpose space for events, an indoor swimming pool and facilities, and two separate exterior swimming pools in different ambiences, one in the central courtyard visible from all the public areas of the hotel and many of the bedrooms and another more protected for the kids, surrounded by the carefully treated gardens which characterize the property through-out.
